I don't really know if I can explain this but one vision I experienced, I saw myself after leaving this world, able to draw all my soul individuality into a single point, or to expand it at will. If you can imagine the pixels on a TV screen, it was like the soul-self pixilating and spreading out, mingling and in total communication with every other soul. Each pixel contained knowledge of its own individuality equally with knowledge of every other. So, one with every other soul and ultimate unity, merged in a sense with others, whilst at the same time, having personal free will. Hard to explain. If you could imagine yourself as a thousand grains of sand upon a beach mingled with thousands of other grains of sand, all sentient and aware of self and in communion with each other and able to move at will. The beach is the unity. Sheesh! Guess you had to be there.

When the mind is dissolved through spiritual practice, then we, the soul, immediately sprout so to speak, our spiritual bodies. In the Srimad bhagavatam, the story of Narada muni is described, how he had a vision of Visnu, how all his life he could not forget and was incessantly thinking of Him, and how, upon leaving his material body he instantly rose up in his spiritual body. The thing is, we are the soul. We are not this body, mind, intelligence, ego, we are atma. We are eternally individuals. Even if a misguided soul merges into the Brahman plane, because he is individual, one day, he must again become active and comes down again to the material world. Only after dedicating himself or herself to the service of the lord does the soul enters Vaikhunta , (the plane of no anxiety), in his spiritual form and never descends again.

Lots of spiritualists hanker to merge back into the Lord, aspiring for a long, long sleep. They want a break from material existence and they cannot imagine anything better. However, it is like spiritual suicide. they aspire to loose their individuality. The Lord accommodates anything we want, however, and for some time they loose their individuality in Brahman. The brahman plane is therefore a sheet of non individuality, so to speak. But behind that plane is Vaikuntha the realm of the Lord where we are given the opportunity to love Him in any form we choose and interact with Him and serve Him. It is an immense, unlimited realm with many lokhas, realms, with pastimes and many souls. This is where most of the souls are. The material world is finite. The spiritual world is infinite. "And do I understand this, we (souls) keep coming back to bodies until we reach a stage when we r invited or just go to Vaikhunta?" Yes, this is correct. Here in the material world we take on one body after the next. this is explained in the Bhagavad Gita very clearly: One goes from boyhood to youth to old age into another body. Again and again. Until one day, one is really tired of this material existence and decides to engage into the service of the Lord and goes back home to the plane of Vaikhunta. I hope this is clear, Candy.

In order to serve the Lord one must take initiation from a bonafide spiritual master in one of the 4 sampradayas, or lines created by great personalities, Sri Ramanuja, Sri Madhva, Sri VisnusvamI, and Sri Nimbaditya are the four Vaisnava lines. To feed the hungry is nice but incomplete, since one is the soul, not the body. Once the body is fed and they can listen peacefully, then one must give those people spiritual knowledge. Serving the lord is also called devotional service or bhakti yoga. It is a large subject and will require that one practices it to understand it fully. I almost feel i would like this merging and deep sleep, is this a bad thing? This is a "bad thing", only because it is like robbing yourself of your true calling. This is what we call sanatana dharma_the dharma of the soul. like the dharma of the fire is to burn, the dharma of water is to be wet, the dharma of the soul is to serve the lord. When one merges in the Brahman plane there is nobody to interact with. It is peace, but the price is you do not feel the peace because you lost your individuality. and it is an unnatural state for the soul. However, love, love of god, is totally natural for the soul. this is where he will be happiest.... so please do not aspire for impersonal realization, but turn your face to the lord. He is waiting for you eternally, and hides very close to you, right inside your heart.... what religion do you practise if you have one? I practice Gaudiya vaishnavism also called bhakti yoga.
