I have had quite a few encounters with them. The most amazing one was with Archangel Michael. I have seen him in my home a few times. One time I saw him in my daughter's room as a giant white light standing by her bed. The light was about the height of the room. I have also seen him as a blueish-purple orb when I invoked him after having an unwanted visitor. Michael was once hovering over my bed as I awakened from a nightmare. I just managed to see his red wings. It wasn't a nightmare at all. I had an unwanted visitor again! I have also seen a few other beings of light standing my bed. One was a boy wearing a brown monk's robe, but he had wings and had his hands together as in prayer. I also saw a young girl doing the same thing. She also had huge wings.
I know they are there, they come when I call and sometimes tell me things I need to know. Twice it was a safety issue, very happy I listened because if I had not I would have been road pizza/worm dirt aka dead.

When I was 8 years old, I was beat up by two older kids after school and I stopped to use a store restroom to clean myself up. When I came out of the restroom this elderly woman approached me saying "Are you alright my dear? I saw you enter in a mess, what happened?" So I told her all about what happened and what had been happening to me daily. She put her hand on my cheek, then ran it softly through my hair, then reached into her shopping bag and handed me a bag of sour cream and onion chips (my favourite at the time) and a can of cream soda (another favourite at the time) then gave me a hug and kiss and told me "it's time you found your way home my love." I nodded, said thank you for the soda and chips and proceeded to leave, as I did so, she calls my name out and says to me with a warm smile as I turned back around to see her "Jimmy, you need to learn to use your imagination better!". I stood there for a moment confused, said "thank you mam" and left still confused.
I got all the way home and was about to open the front gate when this thought entered my mind "I never told her my name.." I dismissed this mystery with thoughts like "Maybe I did tell her and can't remember". At the time I first encountered her, my face was swollen and throbbing, my heart was still pounding, my adrenaline still pumping, my emotions still overwhelmed, my mind was not all there. So I never saw her as an angel for many years but simply as a kind and compassionate soul.
It wasn't until five years later did I fully understand what she meant by her last comment to me. It was then that I started pondering the thought of her being an angel. Some people call it an "aha moment", I called it at the time a "wtf?! moment"...sorry not very spiritual but I was young.

I've definatly had help over the years, advise, warnings, comfort etc from spirits both in spirit form and solid form...and from the standpoint of humans being angel like.
But I don't believe there was or is in existence the Angels like Archangel Michael or Gabriel etc...not really anyhow...even if some spirits might wonder around giving the impression that they are.
I believe often we are given an impression in order for us to accept the message...because for many people it is acceptable if Gabriel were to appear, but not an unknown spirit.
I believe they exist, but not as little babies with wings of beautiful tall man with wings, even though they can chose to manifest that way if they wish and that is what would make sense to you.

I believe they might belong to different levels and have different roles in the universe.
They here with us, together with our guides and yes they might take different forms and come through as many things... the hand holding your hand preventing you to something you shouldn't do... (like with me at 16), maybe holding you as you fall and preventing something bigger to happen... (me too! when I fell from a 2nd floor), or they can be the homeless looking at you with the deeper look just to show you they here... or the help that is just there for a second and gone... So many things...
What is important is not to wonder what they look like or what they are, for that is simply our interpretation and expectation. What is important is knowing they are there and trust, and be open to hear and be held whenever and wherever is needed
