I usually get the best results when I smudge and then place in the sun for a few hours - best if it's in the morning. Moon light works great too if it is a full moon.

I don't live far from Lake Tahoe so when I get the chance (when it is warm) I will take them and cleanse them in the sacred lake and ask the angels blessings upon them.
