Bonjour, I am French and married to an Indian. I follow a spiritual path called Gaudiya Vaishnavism originated from Bengal. My husband follows the same path. I live in an ashram situation and pursue my goal of developing love for God. an ambitious project for sure, but very satisfying. I do japa meditation daily, read from amazing scriptures such as the Bhagavad Gita and the Puranas. The world is an amazing place it seems and not really a place of enjoyment. I spent a lot of my life raising children, and loved it, but now I see that the ties with my children are painful: Who would want to watch their children suffer in the material world? Of course like most people they have their joys and sorrows mixed but all in all the search for happiness is there in them as it there in us, naturally, but all of us are searching in the wrong places most of the time. Anyway, i am not here to bore people with philosophy, but to just present myself as a new member.

Av a good one mate, you will love it as long as you keep an open mind to a lot of different variants of thought processes. …Love Mathew
Thanks! Such as Tibetan Buddhism? I think I understand that thought process...

Dear Dhiralalita,
Wonderful to meet you. I am new to this site as well . . . so it's nice to meet another newbie. Ashram life must be a challenging and yet a very beautiful opportunity and experience for both you and your husband. Are you living in India or here in the US? I have been following a solitary path of deep introspection, contemplation and meditation on my own and have a small spiritual family that honors a similar path. Everyone else has been lovingly surrendered and I have made a conscious choice to love them from a distance. I have also found that working on non attachment to my children has been one of my challenges on the path and I would assume it is the same for all mothers. I have to always remind myself that being a Mother of ALL children and not only the children that I brought into this world is my true nature. If you would like to email me you can Angel4joy@Live.com . Sometimes it helps to share experiences...
Thank you so much Angel! i was unable to get to the website for days, always getting a 403 error. This comes usually from the website management. There was an error of programming there. anyway, yes, I would be glad to email regularly and sharing. Yes, you are correct, to be a mom is a balance on a tight rope so to speak, when you are following a spiritual path. when you understand that yes, all children deserve your love and attention, not just yours. What helps is to realize that your own kids are not really yours but god's. They will grow up and go away with a life of their own and all you can do is give them good values and especially a good example.
All Love ~ Angel
