The Tao is eternally indifferent to being
given a name and label upon which to categorize its Essential Nature.

Though the simplicity of humility is miniscule,
the world can never crush humility out of the Tao.

If those in power are able to humble themselves,
then the whole world can naturally be unafraid of being humble.

Through the combining of heaven and earth,
the sweet dew of the Tao is produced.

No one person can control the Tao;
not even nature.

When busy creating names for the Tao,
know when to step back from the process of intellectualizing the Tao.

By being able to step back and look within,
the Tao of your nature makes its presence known.

The Tao is as immense to the world
as an ocean is to a pond.

Knowing of the conditions of others
makes you into someone who is wise,
whereas knowing yourself makes you
as enlightened as the rhythm of the Tao.

Surpassing others physically or mentally
makes you have power over others,
whereas surpassing yourself
makes you strong within yourself.

Acting with transitory happiness
is for the rich and acting with internal strength
is for those who will with the Tao.

Dying without dying, you will live long.
