Here we are at Hump Day again! Hope everyone’s week is going really well. We’re only 2 days away from the last Blue Moon until 2015 so those of you who have crystals and stones, this is an excellent opportunity to charge them up. There seems to be a theme in our readings lately about not acting until the time is right and today’s is no different. We are going to hear from the Animal Message cards.

Chameleon – “Conceal ambition with patience until it is time to make your move. Chameleon is at one with herself and her world, her senses subtle, artful, otherworldly, her very skin sensing her environment and mimicking the colors that surround her. Be aware of subtle energies – the etheric vibrations that emanate from us all, psychic visions from afar – and trust to their message. In the tricky world of business, bide your time. Become gray and unnoticeable, perfectly positioned to assess the myriad currents and independent ambitions at play – and only then, like Chameleon striking a fly, make your move.”

It seems that some of our readers are curious about their career in one way or another. One may be wondering about a promotion that their employer is taking too much time deciding on or it could be that applications have been submitted to obtain jobs. The reminder in the message to bide your time is prevalent. Don’t give up or not continue your performance or your search, but bide your time patiently and with integrity. It may seem that you are being given the run-around (and you may very well be), but what is supposed to happen in your life will happen. And it will happen at the exact moment it should. This may mean that you aren’t ready for whatever you’ve applied for. It may be pointing you in a new direction that you hadn’t though of before, but pay attention to your surroundings. You may be getting signals that you’re missing because of the tendency to go mental about your search or growth in your current field.

One thing to keep in mind when considering that “bide your time” portion of the message is that you should not stop your life while waiting. Continue on and don’t allow yourself to hinge your activities on a response. Keep going! If what you desire is supposed to come to you, it will when it’s supposed to and exactly the way it should! There is no doubting this. There are times that you’ll feel like you’re settling for the best offer or only offer that’s coming to you. In these times, this is an opportunity to look at what you may be guided to learn through these endeavors. It is very similar to taking a position with a temporary service. You may not be placed in the most exciting or rewarding job, but biding your time and showing them that you are capable of more will really help to get the types of jobs you desire. Just remember, in these temporary cases, they are just that…temporary.

You may find yourself in a job that you’ve “settled” for, due to lack of opportunity, but have you truly settled? This could very well be the doorway you have needed to get to where you are going. If you can do like the chameleon does and assess the situation as a whole, you’ll be able to see what is truly at play in your life. This takes clarity and focus that many of us are not accustomed to. We have been truly “spoon fed” most of our lives. We see something we want and we go straight for it. And when we don’t get what we are wanting when we go for it, we tend to shut down or stamp our feet like a toddler who’s been caught doing something wrong. This, of course, doesn’t apply to everyone, but it is something that tends to happen.

We go for a career that we’re interested in and find that we can’t get work in that particular field. Some of us spend thousands of dollars training for a specific field only to do something completely different. Being aware of ourselves is key to approaching the type of career or employment that we feel called to. It is a shame that many of us have to settle for a job that we can’t stand, with an abusive boss, in an area that is deplorable to what we know we could be doing. And doing all of this simply because our lives are hinged on having an income. We see the rise of so many in-home businesses because of this. Most of us can’t find a place that has the type of work we are called to do so we have to create it on our own. Many people rely on start-ups through larger companies because they don’t have the resources to get all the materials they need. Then they are still left not working on their own and are attached to the corporate world somehow. Seems like a vicious cycle at times.

How to break all these cycles? How can we do what we love and still be able to maintain a comfortable life? What defines a comfortable life? What constitutes happiness in work? How do we change our attitude and bide our time in order to not go crazy in the corporate world? First change that is suggested is just being thankful for any work you have. In the world of business right now, anyone who GETS to go to work is better off than the people who don’t have that opportunity. And we all know that number is growing daily. Appreciating your employment and looking at it as a gift will get you further within than anything else. When we completely dislike our employment, we can change our attitude about it and have a better day simply by saying, “I get to go to work today.” It takes away the negative connotation that saying, “I have to go to work today,” can bring towards us.

Secondly you can look at what you’re doing and see if it is the job itself or the type of job that you are unhappy with. Is it your employer? Is it other employees? Is it the field you’re in? Are you not making enough money because you’ve over-extended yourself financially and are trying to catch up to the speeding race-car of debt? What ever the reason is that you are not happy where you’re at, simply change your attitude about it. Look around and see if there is something that is more suitable. Does it require more training? If you’re drawn to it, you’ll find a way to get there. Would having a conversation with your superiors at work help to change what is going on? This doesn’t require a heated discussion, just merely being honest. Say to them why you are unhappy and see if a mutual agreement that benefits everyone can be reached. If it can’t, then just bide your time and be acutely aware in your outside world of opportunities.

If the chameleon just blindly struck out to try to catch a fly, it will more than likely starve because it has no focus. She blends in so she can observe the world in its entirety around her. Only moving when appropriate, only striking when the time is right. She is patient. She knows how to conceal her intentions. She understands the ways that energies around her work in order to use them to her best advantage. Our largest tools in this kit are listening and watching. If we are talking too much, we can’t listen or truly observe. If we are complaining all the time, we are missing the opportunities to hear the sounds in the background that may be pointing us in the right direction. We attract to us the types of energies and people that mirror what is going on inside. If we are grateful, we show it. If we are unhappy, others notice. When we are at our wits end, we lash out. There is no real way to hide what we are feeling if we are swimming in the negative. It will change how we appear. It will change how we speak. We can’t even hide what is going on inside when we type out our feelings or have a chat online. Awareness, patience, attention, and attitude can help us to change our appearance so we, like Chameleon can strike when the time is right. We can make our move sooner with precision and understanding. We can, in fact, obtain what we are hoping to find.

If you are searching right now…good luck! If you’re already on the path and content with where you are, congratulations! If you’re still struggling at your work, ask yourself this very honest question, “Is it the job that’s making me unhappy, or is it me?” This will start opening up the eyes and ears to what they need to see and hear.
