Love's mysterious ways

"Why does love's presence approach me
in such mysterious ways?"

"Am I close to love's orbit when I think of
nothing but Your radiant grace?"

"What will happen to the heart of my soul
if I am not accepted as Your own?"

"Who would I be without dying to
Your exquisite sense of love?"

After posing these questions to the
brilliant stars of the Mind,
a response from the heavens echoed throughout space.

"Being inquisitive concerning love's mysterious ways,
deeply ponder this sweet revelation of Mine."

"You should love death as much as you love life,
for I am the death of life and the life of death."

"If you are only attracted to the active principal of life
or to the passive principal of death,
then you have not yet cracked the egg of your heart,
for I am what is in between life and death."

"To love Me fully,
I encourage you to love Me in My extremes,
for in doing so, you will know the value of not judging Me
for having carefully put you through the ritual of cyclical existence."

"Listen to My heart's cosmic rhythm.
What does it sound forth?
What is its message to you, my son."

As the quiet observer strained to hear,
the voice of the heavens proceeded to speak.

"I love Myself through your love of Me.
Without your love, I would be incomplete
and without My love, you would be incomplete."

"Who, then, is the original lover?"

"Don't you know there is no one to love. There is only I."
