Butterflies have always been one of my favorite symbols> Representing transition, life after death, strength of the human spirit. woman. THese jewel toned flowers of the air often being a smile to my face when i am out and about. I look forward each spring to their return. Some butterflies like swallowtails and monarchs migrate long distances.
My fancy dance shawl is covered in butteries that all point toward a brilliant star. My representation of the journey that we take together. Brothers and sisters of different colors, creeds and cultures. We are all on a journey to find ourselves and in the end my expectation is that we will find ourselves in a place where we will all be blessed with a perfect understanding of our place in the universal plan.
When i dance the shawl floats and although i am not as graceful as a butterfly i like to believe that the prayers that are in my heart will rise higher than i will ever lift my feet from the surface of the earth.
The elders teach us that when we dance we dance for those who cannot dance. We offer praysrs of thanksgiving not only for ourselves but for every living thing upon the face of the earth. We offer prayers for mother earth, for father sky. We give thanks for all that is and our connection to our Creator. This is part of who I am. I am the butterfly lady. I am slso nichie esquaw. Spirit woman, blessed with the gift of healing.

Butterflies
and flowers
greet each other
A duet performance
with sunshine
and breeze
When gently
settled on a flower
a heart is attached
