Ripped from the headline! Not really but a little drama can be good once in a while. Hi friends! As I read the paper I like to highlight articles that may have had a different ending if the victim had utilized one of my life saving products. Here's what happened to this guy.
Seven suspects are on the loose after assaulting a local man on Sunday evening during his walk home from work.
According to the victim, he was walking home when he was confronted by this group of guys. After taking his cigarettes and cellular phone one of them hit him in the face and then others joined in to pummel him to the ground. His injuries included a broken nose as well as damage to his knee and hand.
With injuries and darkness working against him, he was only able to give minor descriptions of two of his assailants. Police are looking for them now.
So why am I sharing this story with my friends here on this social network? Because this story could have been written about any one of us. How many of us take a walk? Like our victim, you probably feel safe in doing so yet this particular night, he wasn’t. Do you think you’ll be able to catch the person who’s hurt you? Maybe not if your injuries are severe enough. What will you remember about your attacker when the event is over? How good are your powers of observation?
Obviously there may be more to this story, the paper didn’t say but we can still learn from this story. Keeping a stun gun (http://officialsafetyandsecurity.com/stunguns ) or some form of non-lethal protection with you at all times will give you an advantage should you find your safety compromised. Had our victim had one with him the story may have had a different ending.
Although seven guys attacked him, the initial assault came from just one. Keep in mind that criminals are basically selfish cowards. Their own safety comes first which means they are looking for the crime to be easy. If you try to defend yourself they usually run. Had our victim zapped the first assailant with a stun gun (like the cell phone stun gun pictured below) the others would probably have run. The message he would have sent them was that they were next and that he wasn’t going to go down without a fight!
Oh, one final thought, the assailants were not apprehended. They are still out there. Now you may not live in Delaware but assailants live everywhere. They’re always looking for a target. Don’t be an easy one.
