There is never a shortage of instances the world provides when our ego is rekindled. One can make peace with those who spank a child, and then one minute later, loses his peace with one who kills a child. In either instance the decision is made in the mind to judge and decide a hierarchy of suffering that is tolerable. In fact, there is no suffering that is tolerable to the mind, for it's natural state is of peace and even the tiniest amount of agitated separation must be projected back out into the world. All suffering in the world we experience, has arisen from our very own mind. The world requires no healing but our own. Nothing real can be threatened.

While playing Djembe in kirtan today, the lower half of my body went
completely numb. The realization of this was quite startling.
After a good minute, the sensation turned into what I can only describe as
riding a bike on railroad tracks. It was all I could do to hang on to the drum with my legs and focus on the rhythm. It seemed like I was playing out of time and that's what triggered a sudden wash of fear in me. I was coming apart, unraveling.
Something was waaaay off. I had to refind my breath and really concentrate through it. I managed to rejoin the music shortly thereafter.
After kirtan, Vajra, our kirtan leader said she has had the same thing happen to her once. I asked if I totally botched the rhythm during the episode.
To my surprise she said, "I didn't hear anything unusual"........? huh?
I asked the back-up vocalist separately...same thing...nothing.
I asked a bunch of people. Nobody noticed anything.
What an incredibly confusing experience.
Anything like this happen to anyone else and if so, do you know what
this was?
