I will start this off with my view. Possession of these 'gifts' is physical. I believe everyone has one or more physical abilities related to the question, some more developed or natural than others...

I admit I have used a gift for non spiritual purposes. I would say spiritual purposes heavily out weigh the personal gain.

Mathew you should never go by what you see in the mirror. You should go by what you know. Right now you are looking in a mirror. The mirror are those others you feel are finding a balance between physical and spiritual. As a result you feel you are not.

I read your comments in the various blogs, polls etc., and I believe you have found balance. Let us consider for a moment what there is to find.

Out there in 'spiritualist land' there are all sorts who claim to know who they are, where they are going, what their purpose it, what will happen when they die, how to achieve oneness (what ever that is) and a host of other aspects of spirituality which we discuss daily.

I wager that almost all of them, note I said almost, are getting that impression because they are looking in the mirror (others) and like what they see. They see others struggling and they don't feel they are. They like their social consciousness and their dreams, how they speak to their guide, how they see future events, and the list is endless.

But are they truly more spiritually balanced? To me spiritual balance is a difficult thing to measure. You are here to experience human life, with its pain, joy, love and hate. You will suffer and win, alternating as you face challenges. For someone to be constantly centered on being their concept of 'spiritual' means they likely are missing out on some of the important 'human' experiences and emotions. For some one to be human only means they ate likely missing out on joyful moments, which the spirit can help one identify and feel.

In this life, to be balanced is to be mostly human, for that is your main role. However, it must allow room for consideration of spirit and at times complete failure to adhere to your spiritual leaning and at others to be over whelmed by them. But most of the time you are human and initially react as a human.

From what I have read, you give a fair amount of time to spiritual considerations, but rarely do you proclaim thoughts, which show an imbalance toward too much spiritual admiration to the detriment of your real job, being human.

I LIKE YOU AS YOU ARE! I think you are balanced.
